Join us at AstraZeneca as a Training & Transformation Director, a pivotal role within the MI Intelligence & Planning team and the Change Forum. This position offers the opportunity to assess internal capability gaps and collaborate closely with key stakeholders. You will be a critical component of the Change Forum, leading training and cultural activities, instilling high morale, and leveraging people management skills. This role is part of the Oncology Medical Information Leadership Team, supporting the Medical Information Excellence Directors to facilitate their professional growth across OBU MC&I.
Accountabilities:
As a Training & Transformation Director, you will proactively assess operational knowledge, skills, and capabilities required in the team. You will anticipate and identify capability & development gaps, work in collaboration with other Snr. Directors and Directors within MC&I to build out recommendations and solutions. You will provide targeted training and mentoring programs, conduct periodic reviews/ programs to keep track of training needs, and work closely with OSP vendors to ensure training needs are communicated and implemented. You will also develop strategies to foster a positive and adaptive culture aligned to company vision and encourage participation in culture-building activities.
Essential Skills/Experience:
  • Proven leadership/management of Medical Information or Medical Affairs Teams or equivalent
  • Experience in performance development of team members
  • Experience in delivering training sessions, workshops, and other learning experiences
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms for managing and tracking training programs.
  • Knowledge of e-learning tools and technologies for creating and delivering online training content.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of training professionals.
  • A collaborative approach to working with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends, best practices, and innovations in training and development.
  • Pharmaceutical or related medical experience, especially in Medical Communications
  • Excellent planning, management, and coordination skills
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capability to develop and execute comprehensive training and transformation strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives
Desirable Skills/Experience:
  • Digital communications and services experience desired.
  • Proven expertise in team transformation and change management
  • Proven team building, training and coaching skills
  • Experience in learning and development (L&D), organisational development, talent management and development and/or HR business partner experience
  • Executive presence and the ability to influence, negotiate and drive change across an organisation
