Vice President Value Design role drives the commercial success of our start-up, shaping our market presence, and positioning us for rapid growth.
Position Summary
The Vice President, Value Design, a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacist, plays a critical part in shaping the future of healthcare by designing, implementing, and managing pharmaceutical value-based contracts. Works closely with healthcare providers, payers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers to develop innovative strategies that improve patient outcomes while controlling costs. Responsible for managing client engagements, fostering strong client relationships, and leading a professional services team to deliver exceptional results.
Essential Functions And Duties
  • Contract Design and Development.
    • Provide strategic guidance and thought leadership to pharmaceutical manufacturer and payer clients in pharmaceutical value-based contract strategy, design, operationalization, and related reimbursement strategies.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design pharmaceutical value-based contracts that align with customer goals and objectives.
    • Develop contract terms, including performance metrics, quality measures, pricing structures, and operational structures.
  • Data Analysis and Evaluation:
    • Utilize data analytics and market research to assess the effectiveness of new and existing contracts and identify areas for improvement.
    • Monitor and evaluate contract performance, making data-driven recommendations for modifications or enhancements.
  • Develop and lead a team of consultants, ensuring effective project execution and delivery of high-quality services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, payers, providers, and industry experts.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their clinical, economic, and other business objectives and challenges and develop customized value-based design solutions to address their needs.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of client data, market trends, and regulatory requirements to identify opportunities and risks for clients.
  • Stay up to date with federal and state regulations and industry standards related to pharmaceutical value-based contracts. Ensure all contracts adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide education and training to internal teams and external stakeholders on the principles, benefits, and design of value-based contracts.
  • Offer guidance on contract implementation and performance tracking.
  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project milestones.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients in a clear and compelling manner, leveraging data-driven insights and industry best practices.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging trends, and regulatory changes related to pharmaceutical value-based contract design and healthcare reimbursement.
  • Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, proposals, and sales presentations.
  • Mentor and develop consulting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster their professional growth.
  • Adheres specifically to all company policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, and laws.

Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Required Education
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) required.
Required Knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, healthcare systems, and value-based care models.
  • Experience in specialty pharmaceutical market access and patient support programs.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical pricing, rebates, discounts, contracts, and alternative pricing and funding models.
  • Working knowledge of and/or experience with pharmacy benefit design and administration.
  • Working knowledge of and/or experience with specialty pharmacy HUB operations and business models.
  • Working knowledge of and/or experience with pharmaceutical manufacturer market access strategies, organizations, and operations.
  • Working knowledge of and/or experience with specialty pharmacy, GPO, and wholesale distribution contracting.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing consulting engagements, delivering measurable results for clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing and mentoring a team of consultants.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Analytical and data-driven approach to decision-making, with strong problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Knowledge
  • Previous experience in value-based contract design, healthcare analytics, or managed care is preferred.
Required Experience
  • At least eight (8) years' experience in healthcare consulting, with a focus on pharmaceutical manufacturers and healthcare payers
Preferred Experience
  • Five (5) or more years' experience with value-base care contracting and/or
  • Five (5) or more years' pharma HEOR experience and/or
  • Five (5) or more years' pharma market access, patient services, or brand management experience and/or
  • Five (5) or more years PBM, pharmacy, GPO, and/or payer contracting experience.
Physical Requirements
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for prolonged periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. The employee occasionally lifts to 20 lbs. and occasionally kneels and bends. Must have the ability to travel occasionally. Working condition include normal office setting.

Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent customer service.
