CANDIDATE PROFILE

The Director of Business Applications will be responsible for identifying, planning, coordinating, and supervising of all activities related to the development, implementation and governance of all Technological Projects including ERP and other applications to drive overall business strategies. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications.


ACCOUNTABILITY

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer


RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities of the job include but are not necessarily restricted to the following.

  • Collaborate with the management and leadership team, within a growing and developing organization to implement technologies that achieve company objectives
  • Responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating programs for functional areas including Finance, Human Resources, Sales & Marketing, Operations and Manufacturing
  • Build and execute system roadmaps to support corporate strategy and goals, endorsed by stakeholders
  • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion
  • Analyze existing programs or formulate logic for new systems, devise logic procedures, prepare flowcharting, direct or perform coding, testing and debugging adhering to company development standards and practices
  • Develop conversion and system implementation plans
  • Prepare and obtain approval of system and programming documentation
  • Recommend changes in development, maintenance and system standards
  • Implement and execute thorough user training for system conversion and implementation
  • Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, maintenance, and administration of Microsoft NAV Dynamics
  • Leads technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the Company
  • Analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated systems, design/implement automated systems and provide consultation to end users
  • Analyze business processes and match systems hardware/software through development of technical solutions
  • Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements
  • Configure system settings and options; plan and execute unit, integration and acceptance testing; and create specifications for systems to meet business requirements
  • Lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues. Cross-functional teams may be internal or external and client-focused
  • Support end users with Microsoft NAV Dynamics
  • Provide first and second level support for users
  • Perform all functions and responsibilities in conjunction with company policy and procedures
  • Work directly with developers on customizations
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in computer science, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience:

  • 5-10 years of related work experience
  • Experience in engineering and design of comprehensive business solutions that query corporate databases
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience
  • Experience with a comprehensive Cybersecurity control system

Knowledge:

  • A proven track record of ERP System configuration and report generation, MS Nav Dynamics
  • Knowledge of financial systems and controls an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with Artificial Intelligence applications in a business setting
  • Must have strong relational database modeling skills
  • Strong web development and report creation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of operating systems and service application environments including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, IIS, SQL, MS Office 365
